Benefit Highlights:
Community Health Network of Connecticut, Inc.® (CHNCT) recognizes the importance of connecting HUSKY Health members to community resources to help meet their basic needs.
CHNCT employees are encouraged to become involved in their communities, lending their voluntary support to events and/or programs that positively impact the quality of life within these communities. Employees are also encouraged to donate to various philanthropic initiatives hosted throughout the year. Donations are made to the Connecticut Alliance of Foster and Adoptive Families (CAFAF), Connecticut Foodshare, and The Diaper Bank of Connecticut. CHNCT employees actively give back to the communities they serve to help ease the stress related to basic needs.
The Diaper Bank of Connecticut
Since its founding in 2004, The Diaper Bank of Connecticut has distributed 33 million diapers to low-income families in need. CHNCT supports this important cause with a virtual diaper drive every spring. Funds raised help provide diapers, period supplies, incontinent products, and other basic health needs to families throughout Connecticut.
The Connecticut Alliance of Foster and Adoptive Families
The mission of The Connecticut Alliance of Foster and Adoptive Families (CAFAF) is to strengthen foster, adoptive, and kinship care families through support, training, and advocacy. CAFAF aims to ensure child safety, well-being, and stability in partnership with child welfare professionals and the community. CHNCT supports CAFAF by raising funds to help provide school supplies and toys for the holidays for school-aged children in foster care.
Connecticut Foodshare
Connecticut Foodshare supports individuals and families across the entire state by addressing root causes of food insecurity and hunger, creating long-term solutions to chronic food insecurity, and distributing nutritious food through local partner programs to alleviate hunger. The goal of Connecticut Foodshare is to help people achieve food security and economic mobility. Employees donate to Connecticut Foodshare each fall to help those in our communities struggling with food insecurity.
