What is it like to work at Community Health Network of Connecticut, Inc.? (CHNCT)
This is a busy place, and a good place to be if you like a lot of activity around you.
Whether you work here at our Wallingford facility, or you work from home processing claims or providing telephonic case management or disease management services to our members, there’s a lot happening. We work hard, knowing that each day can make a difference in the lives of our members. Whether it means helping someone find the right doctor, providing guidance or education about a health issue, processing a medical claim, or analyzing data and producing a special report, there’s not a lot of down-time.
We think that’s good, because the more our members and providers get to know us, the more they realize how different we are from a big insurance company. Even though we now serve over a quarter of a million Connecticut residents, we’re still a relatively small company. And, while many of us have worked in larger organizations, we like the small-company environment at CHNCT. We are a workforce made up of nurses, information systems professionals, relationship managers, and administrative and support staff in a variety of interdependent roles. Whatever else we may know individually, the one thing we all know is that we can’t do CHNCT’s work well if we don’t do our own jobs well. That means we have to rely on each other a lot.
If you visit us, you might get the idea we’re a bit casual here. You won’t see many suits or ties, unless we have important visitors. You might see balloons or hear birthday songs. But don’t be fooled. We’re serious about our business and what we do here. We are quite a diverse group, representing many different cultures, ethnicities, talents and interests, but we have a single, shared purpose: making sure our members, and the providers who care for them, feel valued and well-served.
